ICT: The Wonders of the World

There are many different lists of Wonders of the World. I have chosen the 7 New Wonders of the World for you to research, because I think this list is the most interesting!  Click on the links to find out lots of interesting facts!

They are:

The Great Wall of China (In China) 

This is a huge wall built by the Chinese hundreds of years ago to keep out the people in Mongolia, who were trying to invade China!

Petra (In Jordan) 

Petra is an ancient, abandoned city built into the rocks. It was used in an Indiana Jones film!

Christ the Redeemer (In Rio de Janerio, Brazil) 

This is ginormous statue of Jesus, which was built high on a mountain looking over a city in Brazil.

Machu Pichu (In Peru) 

This is an ancient, abandoned city built high in the mountains of Peru. People have found evidence of human sacrifices happening here! (Yuck!)

Chichen Itza (Mexico) 

This is an ancient alter where humans were sacrificed (even children!)

Colosseum (In Rome, Italy) 

This is where the gladiators used to fight (to the death!) during the Ancient Roman times. Slaves and prisoners also had to fight against bears and lions.

This is a very famous palace and burial chamber (for dead people).
